Our commitment
Duke Web Tech wants everyone to be able to use dukewebtech.ca, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and we are guided by the principles of The Accessible Saskatchewan Act and the Accessible Canada Act.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with clear headings, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link.
- Full keyboard support, including visible focus outlines and arrow-key navigation in tab lists.
- Text and interface colours that meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields with visible labels, clear required markers and error messages.
- Respect for your device's “reduce motion” setting: animations, auto-rotating content and the custom cursor are turned off.
- The custom cursor only appears on devices with a precise pointer (such as a mouse) and never replaces the text cursor in form fields.
- Layouts that adapt to small screens and to browser zoom of up to 200%.
- Automated accessibility checks before each release.
Known limitations
- Some scroll animations rely on newer browser features. In older browsers the page still works, with simpler motion.
- Websites we link to (for example client projects) are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- Project screenshots are images of other websites; their on-screen text is summarised in the surrounding description rather than reproduced in full.
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
